First, we believe that Texas is the promised land. The Yes To Texas clothing brand and Texas Humor store are built upon our intense love for this great state that we call home. Our products and store are to serve the purpose of spreading the gospel of Texas. We also believe in Texas hospitality above all. We take care of our customers in the exact way we'd wish to be taken care of. You've got our promise on that.
We are a husband and wife owned small business founded in the garage of our first home together. After almost 10 years in advertising and 5 years in marketing, we decided to go in to business together preaching the gospel of Texas. Our two corgis, Carl and Winslow, are our close advisors.
(Big thanks to Megan Mead for the illustrations of our team.)
It all started with an illustration that represented exactly how I felt about Texas relative to the rest of the world. Throughout all of my travels for work, regardless of where I was, I measure every place against Texas. Although I loved the places I visited, none quite stacked up to the great state we call home.
As it turns out, a lot of other folks felt the same way. Soon after posting this on the Texas Humor Twitter account, we started getting requests for shirts and other products featuring my "Ain't Texas" design.
What you see above is our first handful of orders that came through in the first couple of days of selling our designs. To say we were thrilled would be an understatement. Seeing as how Texas Pride is an oil well that'll never run dry, we quickly had to hire our first employee Ringo Cisneros, and after a short stint working out of our office, we were able to move in to a warehouse in south Austin.
Over the years, we've learned a lot about running a business like this and are incredibly proud of our ability to ship products and provide customer service on par with the big box companies, while still holding true to our founding principals.
Since our launch in 2013 we've grown to 14 employees, not including Carl and Winslow. Don't let our larger facilities and big ol' social media audience size fool ya. We're still hand ship all of y'all's orders and design all of our products from scratch. We're proud to be a small business that's committed to excellent customer service, high quality products, and of course Texas Pride.
We greatly appreciate your business. Every purchase made contributes to the Texas economy and provides a living for our family and those of our employees. On top of that, it allows us to have the greatest job a Texan could ask for, aside from BBQ or Margarita Taste Tester. Thanks y'all.
Texas here. Texas wherever. Texas now. Texas forever.
